2010 Nissan Fuga/Infiniti M35 Hybrid image

Nissan has long relied on hybrid technology that was purchased and licensed from Toyota. While acquiring hybrid tech from the hybrid leader isn’t necessarily a bad idea, Nissan is looking to forge its own path when it comes to hybrid propulsion, and this new system will find its way into an Infiniti model first, according to Infiniti Boston MA.

The upcoming M35 Hybrid will feature the first hybrid system developed by Nissan. According to Reuters, the system will differ greatly from Toyota’s full hybrid and Honda’s mild hybrid architecture. As a result, it may offer even stronger fuel economy than competing systems. [click to continue…]

2011 Infiniti QX56: More Luxury, Same Price

by Infiniti in the News on April 13, 2010

2011 Infiniti QX56 image

It’s an impressive feat: The completely redesigned 2011 Infiniti QX56 offers 25 percent more horsepower, 10 percent better fuel efficiency and a new, even stouter body-on-frame chassis than the 2010 model—yet it it starts with exactly the same sticker price, a cool $56,700.

And as is obvious from the QX56′s introduction at April’s New York International Auto Show, that would be money well spent by anyone who want the benefits of “a true five-star travel experience” and eight-passenger seating. [click to continue…]

Infinti is working on its own electric vehicle based on the Nissan Leaf. However, the car is likely to be quite different in terms of performance to better fit the brand’s overall persona.

The other important factor in the development of this vehicle is its styling, which will reportedly not look at all like the demure Leaf. Instead, the Infiniti will be far more luxurious and sportier than its Nissan branded counterpart. Remaining true to the brand is important, Boston Infiniti says. [click to continue…]

Infiniti G Lineup To Offer Mercedes 4-Cylinder

by Infiniti in the News on April 8, 2010

2010 Infiniti G37 sedan image

With a new alliance between Renault-Nissan and Daimler AG firmly in place, Mercedes Annapolis said one of the first byproducts of this relationship could be a Mercedes-sourced four-cylinder engine for Infiniti’s G sedan and coupe.

All automakers, particularly those in the premium segment, are looking for new ways to boost fuel economy throughout their entire lineup. With a thirsty behemoth like the QX56 or the performance-tuned FX50, Infiniti could benefit from a base four-cylinder unit in the G lineup to offset the MPG offered by their high-performance and SUV models. 2011 Infiniti QX SUV Breaks Cover In New York

by Infiniti in the News on March 31, 2010

2011 Infiniti QX56 image

The Infiniti QX56 may be a relatively low volume vehicle, but for Nissan’s luxury brand, the QX remains crucial to maintaining a presence in the competitive full-size luxury SUV segment. That’s why the all-new 2011 Infiniti QX was just redesigned from the ground up, and is intended to provide a “five-star travel experience” for the road.

As before, the 2011 Infiniti QX56 is simply gargantuan and certainly exudes power and strength. But the all-new model also provides a subtle softness in its styling that gives way to spaciousness and luxury inside. The QX56 retains all the important aspects of a vehicle in the full-size luxury SUV class, Infiniti Boston says. [click to continue…]

Infiniti EV Will Be Like the Nissan Leaf … Only Faster

by Infiniti in the News on March 23, 2010

Infiniti Essence Concept image

Last year it was made clear that Infiniti is planning to introduce an all-electric vehicle in its lineup. While such plans were being made during the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show, the automaker stopped short of providing any concrete details – aside from the fact that the proposed car will fulfill the brand’s promise of Inspired Performance.

Slowly but surely, news reports are coming in and the latest about the proposed Infiniti is that it will feature the electric drivetrain found in the upcoming Nissan Leaf EV. The major difference between the two systems, of course, will be that the Infiniti’s will be more suited for performance rather than purely maximizing range. It’s important that Infiniti remain a performance oriented brand, Boston Infiniti Dealers say. [click to continue…]

Infiniti Sedan Barrels Into Doctors Office

by Infiniti in the News on March 18, 2010

It seems that “sudden acceleration” is becoming justification for some very strange behavior behind the wheel. Yesterday a dark gray Infiniti G35x plowed into a doctors office, injuring five people, and stopping only when it hit a support column, according to police.

“I was reading a magazine and suddenly there was an almighty explosion,” said Jerry Catt, who was in the front lobby at time of the accident. “The car was stuck on full throttle. The engine was racing.” [click to continue…]
