Infiniti Announces Pricing For 2011 Infiniti IPL G Coupe

Infiniti recently announced its own lineup of high-performance models, to compete with the likes of BMW’s M division and Mercedes-Benz’s AMG division. This new Infiniti Performance Line, or IPL, will first feature the 2011 Infiniti IPL G Coupe.

This week, Infiniti announced  how much this first IPL model will cost. Prices start at $47,950 for the IPL G Coupe with a 6-speed manual and $49,850 with a 7-speed automatic. [click to continue…]

Infiniti Shows How ‘Eco Performance’ Is Done

According to Westborough Infiniti, Infiniti is preparing to launch two important fuel-efficient offerings. The first will be a hybrid variant of the all-new M sedan. The second will be an all-electric vehicle which, according to Infiniti, will be “a stylish, high performance five-seat luxury vehicle with zero emissions technology.”

The upcoming EV will arrive in 2013, and is expected to borrow plenty of technology from the upcoming Nissan Leaf. However, Infiniti has promised that it will continue the brand’s commitment to “Inspired Performance.” [click to continue…]

Infiniti G Line Adds Performance Coupe, G25 Sedan

It looks like Infiniti’s dedication to “Inspired Performance” is about to get even more inspiring: The company recently debuted its dramatic new 2011 Infiniti Performance Line (IPL) G Coupe at the 60th annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, ushering in a whole new era in the performance luxury segment. In fact, this new high performer will be just the first of an expected series of Infiniti vehicles to undergo an IPL transformation.

Infiniti Considers More Rear-Wheel Drive Hybrids

Infiniti will be launching its first hybrid sedan this year with the 2012 M35 Hybrid. This model will feature Nissan’s all-new, proprietary hybrid system. The drivetrain is also said to be a key component of other rear-wheel drive vehicles in development.

Speaking with Automotive News, Nissan North America’s vice president of product planning, Larry Dominique, suggested that the new hybrid system was capable of being mated to any vehicle in Infinti’s lineup and not just the M sedan. [click to continue…]

Infiniti Launches Entry-Level 2011 G25 Sedan

Infiniti’s popular G model lineup is going to expand this September with the addition of the G25 sedan. This new model will serve as the luxury brand’s entry level sedan.

There won’t be much to set the G25 apart from the G37 in terms of styling. The biggest difference will be a new 2.5-liter V6 under the hood. This unit, which has already been available in Japan since 2008, produces 218 horsepower and 187 pound-feet of torque. Infiniti Showcases 2011 Model-Year Changes

Now in its 21st year in the U.S., Infiniti is on the cusp of major changes to its lineup with the announcement that engineers are hard at work on a hybrid version of the brand’s range-topping luxury performance sedan, the all-new Infiniti M, as well as an electric vehicle. But even before those new products take to the road in coming months, Infiniti has moved to further strengthen its already impressive lineup for the 2011 model year.

According to Infiniti Marlborough, MA, this includes the launch of the completely redesigned, second-generation 2011 QX SUV, offering robust body-on-frame construction, comfortable seating for up to eight adults, unrivalled luxury and a more powerful yet more fuel efficient V8 engine. The QX’s 5.6-liter powerplant now develops 400 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque while delivering 14 percent better fuel economy in EPA combined mileage ratings than the previous model’s V8. The QX also is available with accoutrements like a standard hard-drive nav system, rear-view camera system, a Bose 13-speaker premium sound system and a Theater Package with two 7-inch color monitors that are capable of playing content from two different sources at the same time. Nissan Announces All-New Object Detection Technology

Nissan wants drivers to be comfortable with their surroundings. That’s why the automaker has just introduced its all-new object detection and Forward Collision Avoidance Assist systems.

These systems are among several new technologies revealed by Nissan that will eventually be found throughout the automaker’s lineup., said Dedham Infiniti dealer. Acura Dealer CT said this latest system works like other object detection systems from Ford, Lexus, and Acura, but rather than simply alerting the driver, the system can also apply the brakes automatically if the front-mounted radar sensor detects that the vehicle is closing on an object ahead too quickly. Infiniti Details New Packages, Models For 2011

The Infiniti lineup will be receiving plenty of updates for 2011. This includes the addition of the all-new M sedan and QX56 SUV. Although it won’t be completely new, the G series will also be receiving some intriguing new updates.

Making their official debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the 2011 G Sedan will offer a new Limited Edition model as well a Sport Appearance package. Meanwhile the G Coupe will add a Sport Package for the AWD-equipped models. Finally, the G Convertible will feature a revised front fascia and will be available with a Limited Edition model. Nissan has long relied on hybrid technology that was purchased and licensed from Toyota. While acquiring hybrid tech from the hybrid leader isn’t necessarily a bad idea, Nissan is looking to forge its own path when it comes to hybrid propulsion, and this new system will find its way into an Infiniti model first, according to Infiniti Boston MA.

Infiniti To Launch New Vehicles With Performance And Efficiency

Not only does Nissan’s luxury have two new offerings, the Infiniti M sedan and the QX56 SUV, but Infiniti also plans on launching at least two additional models by 2011.

One of these upcoming models is going to be an all-electric car based on the upcoming Nissan Leaf. The other is expected to be based on the Nissan Juke crossover, which will be powered by a direct-injected turbocharged four-cylinder engine that may be carried over to the Infiniti model, according to Nissan Dealer Hartford.
